As a dad of two kids and an adventurer, I am always looking for places to visit that have things to do for grownups and kids. So, for some of you who live in Washington state they know it’s raining almost half of the year so outdoor activities are restricted. Last year for spring break we decided to go to Great Wolf Lodge. We had prepped the kids about what there was to see and do at Great Wolf Lodge, they had friends who recently told them that it was such a great place and I have to say, they were very excited! And so were we! This had been on our “bucket” list for some time. We drove for about 2 hours and here comes the fun we all were excited about. The Entrance had huge Wolves that looked so real. We registered and got cute head bands and wristbands for water park and rooms access. Adventure begins in the massive, 84-degree indoor water park. We splashed the day away in over 56,000 square feet of water-packed excitement, including jaw-dropping slides and zero-depth entry areas for little ones. Kids love the wave pool. There was café with big bucket of ice cream, Pizza and fries to offer. We all ate that, and I must say it was satisfactory to eat something right where we were having. Outside the water park, the fun continues. We Grabbed a wand from a big store filled with magic stuff and battled a dragon in Magi Quest. We enjoyed the moon light kids golf and arcade games. There was a Creation Station much like Build-a-Bear; My kids chose their favorite Great Wolf character and brought it to life! There were even outfits for them, though admittedly we thought the selection was small. Thankfully, some of my kiddos’ favorite bear clothes fit these characters as well. Later we got an ice cream-themed manicure in Scoops Kid Spa before gathering our family in the Grand Lobby for nightly fireside Story Time. After all the activities kids were super tired and we retired to our wolf den suite. It was a huge room with a bunk beds for kids in a cave that they loved. It had a small tv and a table. Kids enjoyed watching Disney cartoons before they slept. We woke up early next morning to go to lobby and enjoyed the fireplace with coffee while kids listened stories and played some games. Before we headed home, we went out and did some obstacle course and zip line. It was scary but a great adrenaline rush, the perfect ending to a Great Wolf day.
